Manually Tracing a Letter

Manually tracing a letter is the best way to get a good outline but it can be time consuming. Here is an example.

1. Select the Bézier tool.

2. Select the type of control points you want to use (3 stands for cubic control points).

3. Add control points.

4. Press s to make a sharp corner.

5. Switch to the tool for moving points.

Press e to create an extrema, press w to tie handles and hold shift to change length while keeping the angle.

You can also use auto trace if you don't want to do this manually. It is generally much faster.
